If they are so thin,
why are they still safe?
To put it simply, we import and
sell condoms from Japan because the Japanese are the world-leaders
in condom manufacturing techniques!
The Japanese do not use the
Western 'Kitemark' symbol or CE certification as they have their
own Japanese Standards Association. All condoms we stock have been
approved by regulatory bodies in Japan for the safe prevention of
pregnancy and disease, having passed safety and quality tests equivalent
to International ISO standards. European certification protects
us from cheap, sub-standard imports from countries that do not have
such quality standards and provides no significant benefit to assurance
of safety or quality when equivalent overseas standards have been
met.
As you can tell, we take the issue of safety very
seriously, and together with quality standards, safety is of utmost
importance when we are sourcing our condoms.
As Japanese Condoms are intended for the Japanese market, they
do not carry the CE certification mark, and under UK law, unless
they bear this mark they must be, and, therefore are, sold in the
UK under the category of "novelty condoms".
This is usual practice for certain condoms sourced from outside
the EU and some US brands are sold in the UK on a similar basis.
